The Department of Arabic Language and Literature

The Department of Arabic Language and Literature has ongoing research in four major areas:

•   Classical Arabic Literature
•   Modern Arabic Literature
•   Arabic Linguistics
•   Islamic Culture

During the B.A. program, the Department’s staff tries to introduce the students to as wide as possible a range of topics in Arabic literary heritage, language, and Islamic studies. The M.A. students are trained to conduct independent research in related fields of interest.
